On April 23, 2024, the workshop "Little Smart Gardeners" was held on the island of Lokrum as part of the Little School of Arboriculture program, specifically module 3.3. How Plants Live – LITTLE GARDENERS. The workshop was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Educators' Manual, developed through the project Historic Gardens of the Dubrovnik Region.
The workshop was attended by class 2a of Marin Getaldić Elementary School, accompanied by their teacher Snježana Viteškić. The educational activities were led by Marija Medović, a landscape architecture expert. During the workshop, students learned how to independently prepare the soil, plant, and care for seedlings, while also developing an awareness of the importance of preserving plant life.
In addition to gaining practical knowledge, the students spent a meaningful and enjoyable time in the natural surroundings of the Lokrum Reserve.
