Karst Forest Management

Program goals:

  • inform the participants about the high-value plant community of karst
  • describe syndynamical processes in the karst area of Dalmatia
  • inform the participants about the negative phenomena that affect the development of the karst forest vegetation
  • show examples of positive practice of afforestation of the karst areas

Expected outcomes:

After participating in the educational program, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify different karst plant communities
  • Name the main representatives of the Croatian Mediterranean forests
  • Connect the unique characteristics in the xerophyte structure with the habitat adaptations
  • Identify the negative phenomena that affect the development of the karst forest vegetation

Participants:

  • expert audience (scientists and teachers)

Maximum number of participants:

  • 25 participants

Program duration:

  • 170 minutes
